The skills are particularly rewarding, as they're not really skills but gadgets to use in combat. Technically, it's a simple task, but that involves taking back Control Points, wiping out enemy strongholds, and slowly amassing weapons and gear that makes you the perfect Division agent.

Your overall objective is to take back Washington D.C., your latest playground, from three factions and help out the citizens that are left.

And by that time the Division 2 roadmap (opens in new tab) will already be underway. There's so much to do here that you'll be playing for hundreds of hours before you've done it all. The world reacts to your action and develops accordingly everything you collect has a purpose the loot cycle is rewarding and even offers silly apparel options and dyes. But it's the fact that you constantly feel like you're progressing rather than just ticking things off a list that makes Ubisoft's latest open-world such a delight to explore and fight through. It's a solid third-person shooter, focused around co-op shootouts with three different factions (and later, a fourth) and developing skills, abilities, and a loadout that compliments your play style. Dark Zone South Recon (unlocks DZ South)Īfter hunting down the Manhunt Target's lieutenants, these missions are unlocked.On the surface, The Division 2 is more of what came before.City Hall Siege (unlocks Haven for use).Gatehouse Facility (unlocks Tidal Basin Stronghold).The Theater (unlocks the Theater Settlement).Dawn's Early Light (unlocks the Base of Operations for use).Warlords of New York introduces five new main missions, one for each lieutenant, and one for Aaron Keener. Pentagon Breach (prerequisite to unlocking main Pentagon Missions).All missions from the initial story, as well as from Episode 1 can become invaded. This unlocked the Invaded mission variants that change on a weekly basis. Once a player hits the endgame, the Black Tusk invades. Base of Operations, while side missions typically provide blueprints or SHD tech.

Main missions will provide an upgrade to the D.C. SHD Missions provide benefits to The Division directly, instead of to the Civilian Militia settlements. The main missions unlock the next tier, while the side missions add a single upgrade to the settlement. The Castle Settlement mission is solely for revenge against the True Sons for the destruction of the Castle Settlement.Ĭampus Settlement missions are missions that provide an upgrade to the Campus Settlement in one way or another. The major missions unlock a new progression tier, while the side missions tend to unlock a single upgrade. Theater Settlement Missions provide, upon completion, some sort of upgrade to the Theater Settlement. There are only 3 Strongholds in the Main Story, one representing each of the three enemy factions in Washington, D.C., and would also act as the last 'Missions' of Tom Clancy's The Division 2, before progressing to the Endgame. Working alongside Missions are Strongholds, which serves as much bigger Missions with multiple bosses.

Alongside Missions given by these two sources, various Side Missions are also given, that reward a good portion of XP and Gear as well, which are highly recommended for those who are looking for better gear in their journey from level 1 - 30.

Missions are separated by two categories, one that is given by Civilian Settlements, and the other that is given directly from the Strategic Homeland Division. Within each Mission, will allow the player to take back Washington, D.C., fight against the enemy factions, and at the same time, be rewarded with a generous amount of XP and Gear for the player to constantly progress up the story. Missions are scripted, instanced activities in Tom Clancy's The Division 2 and is required to be completed in order for the Player to progress through the main story.
